For 1992 the model name becomes Contact and continuing the designation of "GT". In this model year, production is increased for the 125cc GT12, and the new GT16 144 cc model is introduced for markets such as the USA. The input of Amos Bilbao is evident. Amos proves his and the machines abilities when he wins world championship races in Germany and the USA. The motorcycle features a new fuel tank, and rear mudguard (fender USA) with integrated seat. The front suspension on most of the production GT12, GT16, and GT25 models was the now familiar Marzocchi 35mm USD. On the GT32 (327cc) model, the front suspension was the new Paioli USD 38mm. The GT32 featured the new concept hydraulically operated clutch. The first time for this concept on an off-road motorcycle from any manufacturer the world over. The hydraulic clutch revolutionized the trial world, and set the standard for clutch operation used by every manufacturer to this day. This is the year that the GASGAS design department began to display its award winning paint and graphic design concepts. There is no question that the 1992 model year GASGAS was one of the most aesthetically pleasing trial machines in history. One journalist referred to the beautiful paint and chrome motorcycle as a "mountain Ferrari".
